We get this question quite often, as many users are seeking applications for calling free over the internet. To be clear, NCC services ARE NOT an app, and do not provide any internet-based calling service.
However, NCC services can be an alternative to many calling apps, depending on what the user is trying to accomplish.
If you have no phone or long distance plan, but you do have an internet connection, you can use Viber, Skype, or any number of online calling applications to place calls. Some for free, some low cost (often this depends on whether the person you are calling is also using the same service). No Cost Conference service can be accessed via these VOIP services, but NCC does not originate any calls.
If you are trying to find an online calling app that can pull together a group of people for a conference call, NCC services can be a good alternative. Each user accesses the conference by whatever means they have (land line, cell phone, VOIP), and the conference hub provides the group connection. There is no cost for NCC services, either Free Conference Calling Standard, or with Web Control. Some users may be subject to normal long distance rates if they don’t have an unlimited long distance plan.
